What’s better than two best friends sharing a birthday party? Eli and Harrison share the same group of friends and their birthdays are only 3 weeks apart so we had to have a birthday party together! I don’t know many kids who aren’t in awe of fire trucks so off to the fire station went 11 kiddos and their parents.
All dressed up and ready to go!
“Driving” the fire truck
All was well until Eli eyed the basketball sitting on the chair. His interest in the fire station went right out the door the minute he realized there was not only a ball to hold but a net too! I tried to say no and bring his interest back to the tour but no luck. His whines quickly turned into real tears. He desperately wanted to hold the ball. I figured why not?
That would have been ok except once Eli had the ball in his hands he couldn’t help but ask to go shoot it in the “big boy basketball net” outside.
Look at that quivering lip! Eli is pleading with Milan saying “Pleeeeease Tata play on big boy basketball net”. In the meantime the rest of the group is behind us politely listening to the firewoman giving the tour. What do you do as a parent? Force your 2 year old to do something he doesn’t want to do that he is suppose to think is fun or give in and let him play outside where you know he will be happy?
Here’s your answer…
Eventually Eli came back in and joined the group.
What’s cooler than hanging out on a fire truck with your best buddy?
Ding Ding! Ringing the bell on the truck!
After the fire station we went back to Harrison’s house to eat Whitney’s yummy cake!
Getting ready to sing and blow out the candles!
Eating cake- yum yum!
Last but not least- time to open presents!
Wow what a morning full of friends and fun!
