Road Trip

We took our annual trip to Chicago again this August.  Eli had so much fun playing with everyone.  This is the first trip where he was actually able to remember names and faces.  Now that we are home again he randomly talks about everyone from the trip.  It’s so nice to see that he is starting to “know” his family and friends even after we leave.  There are so many more people we would have loved to see while we were home! We’re sorry we missed you.

Batting Practice

Some people might believe that Milan is going to be one of the parents who loves sports so much that his child has no choice but to love it as well. I am here to say that Eli has taken on his very own love of sports.  Milan has done nothing in the way of forcing this child to love the ball.  The only thing Milan is guilty of is passing down the genes!

After this big event- Batting Practice Day 1- Eli now needs a real tee to hit the ball from.  Back to Toys R Us.  I think I’ve been in that store more in 20 months than I was in my entire life!

Thank you Tata, baseball is fun!

Finally

I am embarrassed to admit that I am a total blog slacker!  The first trimester “blues” got me down and out but I am feeling better and back to blogging again!  Yes Mom you can stop harassing me now!

Eli has been as busy as ever this summer.  Here are some highlights of what he’s been up to.

Obviously Eli doesn’t miss any meals. That is quite the Buddha belly as we call it. It’s been so hot here this summer that running around in just a diaper is just about the only way to keep cool. Though I must say it does make me feel like a hillbilly Mama.

IMG_6374 No that’s not dirt on my hillbilly child’s face.  It’s black beans!  Eating as usual…

We got a new park in town and it’s great! We can’t wait until it cools off and we can go more often.  Eli loves it.  But he loves this even more………

BASEBALL!

Milan took Eli to the baseball field after the park and from that day on Eli has not stopped talking about it.  Every day I hear “run the bases”, “play baseball”, “Tata take me play ball” and “hit the ball”! Over and over and over! It is just too cute.

Look at that stance.  Too bad first basemen aren’t suppose to have the ball and the bat!

Batting practice deserves a blog of it’s own…
